Typically they do slow some during the winter months. I have had success pampering them somewhat with their favorites during these times. Be careful or they will become spoiled and it will be hard to get them back on a more healthful diet. These slow downs appear to be more pronounced during the earlier stages of development and are haphazard in their occurrence. My advice, keep him/her eating some of something, insure dehydration doesn't become a problem and chances are things will return to normal by March or April.
