Paralysed Iguana?

My iguana was running in the back yard today. My dad put him back in his cage and when I check him a few hours later, his back legs are not working. They just feel limp. He pulls himself along on his front legs. His tail works, and so do all of his other muscles. Is there anything I can do? How could he have gotten paralysed?
