You are correct about the similarities if the Iguana & Water Dragon's requirements Mr.D - The only thing I would add is that Water Dragons must have a LARGE body of water available to them in their enclosure - rather than just a designated "bathtime".

And NO Scott - do not house them together...
: but having "dragonsat" for a friend for last month we came to the conclusion that the only "difference" between WD's and igs was the animal protein in the diet. Other than that, habitat and humidity were virtually identical. Yes/no ?
: If cared for properly from the beginning igs are remarkably resilient and resistant to most things. The problems begin when an uninformed/MISinformed person gets their hands on one and feeds it lettuce, brocolli, kale, and spinach along with the occassional cricket, pinkie, or as we've read in Desiree's posted news story - mozzerella cheese. They also tend to think, due largely to completely and totally irresponsible marketing, that "full spectrum" means UV. Nothing could be further from the truth.
: Adopting an ig is definitely the best way to go in my book. Heck, I've got 5 here now that you can have once health improves. The only downside in adoption is that you have virtually no idea as far as health/diet history. As long as you go into it knowing that there may be the possibility, down the road, of residual MBD or liver/kidney/thyroid damage due to poor/improper diet from a previous owner.
: Believe it or not, I've come to the conclusion that igs really CAN tell who is/isn't taking care of them. The one's that limp/crawl/shudder through our doors seem to find a way to show that they understand that we're doing the best we can to improve things for them if at all possible. Just in the last month we've seen igs come in suffering from various stages of MBD to dehydration to MOLD (yes, I said mold). Some are recovering faster than others but they CAN and DO recover if not too far gone and if given the chance with proper diet/housing/heat/light.
