iZ has quite a few that have suffered from stuck shed or that have cracked and while they've healed + are growing pretty good, they're rather short + stumpy compared to how they should be ...

and would add that giving extra little drinks (oral syringe/eye dropper) every day will also do wonders to help the shedding process AND overall health of scales ...

iZ has become so used to the washcloth being draped over his back while he soaks in the tub that i get VERY nasty looks from him if i *don't* do it! (tho it *did* take him a bit to get used to it when i 1st started doing that ~ and ~ iZ says it MUST be a *blue* washcloth ... )

i'm also a fan of aloe ~ READ the labels before purchasing tho! "made with 100% pure aloe" does NOT mean that it IS 100% aloe ...
rub some on the spikes daily ~ special attention to the base of the spike + the little "fringe" scales next to them ...

i rub iZ's spikes while he's soaking in the tub, after they've soften up from the water a bit ... and i massage the "crest" (?) ~ the ridge part just below the spikes/fringes ... it helps loosen the shed and at the same time, i'm hoping it helps increase blood circulation to that area to help things out ... same when i put aloe on him ~ it's more of a massage than just smearing it on ...

iZ thinks the whole thing is a wonderful idea!
so even if it's *not* helping his spikes, it's definitely a bonding experience ... *grin*
