Yes, the UV is at the top. We purchased another UV for the bottom but hadn't installed it yet since the baby was spending all it's time at the top. Last night I set up a 20 gallon for the baby (Don't plan to leave it in there for long...just trying to get it to grow and stay warm). I pinched it up some mustard and turnip greens along w/ some watercress. It ate a few bites but that's all. I noticed while it was laying on the food it looked much more wrinkled up than before and was more worried when I noticed the base of it's tail even had some wrinkling. I got the plastic medicine dropper we got from the vet (had never been used) and got it to drink some water. Then we went down to the grocery store and picked up some veggie baby food for it. By the time we got back it had ate much more food and all the wrinkleing was pretty much gone. The base of it's tail was wrinkle free. I still tried to get it to eat some of the green bean baby food w/ the dropper. It ate a few drops but looked pretty stuffed. I washed it's face (messy eater ;)) and placed it under it's basking light. It looked much better last night so hopefully a few weeks in the smaller enclosure will do it much good. I plan to leave it in the 20 gallon until it out grows it (hopefully soon) then move it on to the 50 gallon. By the time it out grows the 50 gallon we'll be finished w/ all the shelving in the living room so it can free roam and feel safe also will have plenty of room to get away from the older ig.
: Alisha,
: where is the placement of the UV light that you use for them ? If the baby is spending the majority of time up top with the older ig I'm guessing that your UV source is also up there.
