We just went through this this spring with our now 4 yr old. Contrary to most, we HAVE heard stories of igs taking as much as 3 weeks to lay eggs. Mel took close to that to lay 25. 3 in 5 hours does seem a bit slow but it's difficult to say. Even with Oxytocin, Mel still took her time laying her eggs. I would have an x-ray taken just so you have an *idea* as to how many eggs to expect. This will NOT be exact as eggs can easily be hidden in x-rays but at least you will have aballpark figure.
Definitely keep the moist sand, although you may want to mix it with soil for more texture. Igs dig their nestsand sand will just continually collapse on the nest. Melissa Kaplan, I believe, has a good soil/sand ratio on her site. Bear in mind, though, that she is going to lay them where she feels most comfortable, whether it is in the box or not. Mel laid the majority of hers right up on her top shelf under her basking light. She'd even lift her tail so I could take the eggs. Interestingly enough, she wouldn't let IC anywhere near them. I've heard stories of igs laying their eggs on owners pillows in the owner's bed, etc.
If your female hasn't had an opportunity to mate, the eggs will be unfertilized. If there is any chance that they HAVE been then a day or two in the freezer will negate any chances of any hatching. Not being familiar with the iguana population in Sweden I can't advise you what to do but here in the U.S. igs are extremely abused/neglected and I *NEVER* advise people to attempt hatching eggs.
Good luck, keep a close eye on her for any signs of straining, keep her hydrated as much as possible, and make sure to start supplimenting with calcium as soon as her appetite returns and make sure that her UV source fresh. Without the D3 all the calcium in the world won't do any good. Let us know how everything goes.
