Haven't did a lot of research on egg laying but if memory serves me correctly this is what I found...Healthy ig's on average lay 40 eggs a year. They should lay them all in a nesting box I believe staying until finished. This usually starts sometime after they reach 2 yrs and usually by the time they are 3 yrs. The eggs shouldn't be turned (not sure why) when moving to an incubator. It says to place an "X" on the top of the egg before moving so not to get it mixed up.
My opinion...I would be concerned w/ the ig being 7 yrs before laying her first eggs. I also would get her to a vet if she doesn't lay close to the average amount of eggs within a day. You can have x-rays done to make sure no eggs are left inside. I wouldn't be too concerned about the egg dieing unless your female was fertile and you plan to incubate the eggs. As for it dieing from being turned around I'm not sure. I would guess the reason for her laying them in different spots is because she isn't satisfied w/ her nesting box. Good Luck!
: We have a 7 year old iguana, who just has layed her first eggs, but only three of them. Do we have reasons to be concerned?
: She started laying the eggs about five hours ago, should things go faster?, or do they always do it in a slow paste? She has layed the eggs on different places every time, but never in the moist sand we provided for her. When we moved one of the eggs to the haching box it where turned around a bit, does the egg "die" from that?
