He could be homesick. My Sammy like to try to eat carpet and it is possible that your iguana has a blockage problem. Have you seen recent poops? If not, try soaking. Mouth rot may be of concern here. And yes, if the carpet has been trated m it could be irratating poop iggy.

I would consult with a vet if it is not moving or eating.
