I'm not sure about roaming outside (mine's a cage and inside-dweller, but if you have, say, a screened in porch or something without visible holes, then that would be ok I think.

About potty-training, it's actually quite simple. Igs are inclined to defecate in water, so if you put out a large (cat-litter box-sized) pan with water in it, it can serve as a toilet, and (when clean) a soaking tub. I believe it is best to have two water bowls; a small one to drink out of and a large one to potty in. Or if you're like me, I put greens IN her water bowl so that they stay fresh and she gets water while she's eating, when I'm going to be gone for a day or two.

About iguana proofing, I gave up on this long ago simply because I have too much stuff. Really, to be realistic, everything should be bare, no valuable knick-knacks around to knock off (and they WILL! ..lol...), and absolutely nothing sharp, chained, or stringy hanging about. For me, this is impossible so Lou stays in her enclosure and comes out only when she can be supervised (iggs are VERY mischevious and can get into and under anything!) :)

Best wishes!

i have a young green iguana, but he is steadily growing larger, and i want to be able to let him free roam around my house. but i don't know anything about potty traing, or iguana proofing my house, so he'll be safe. also, what is the best way to let him roam outside for a while, and still be safe?
