Personally, I'm not that picky as far as how my igs "look" under the light. Most of the ones that show up here I'm just happy if they are alive and showing improvement. Sure, you could use a secondary light if you feel it necessary, but since we're currently housing 9 igs we try to keep costs in general to a minimum.
Heck, I've got to rebuild an enclosure as quickly as possible because the rescue that came in yesterday also came with a 4x4x4 enclosure. Not a bad donation - usually. Unfortunately, we didn't find out until actually picking up the ig that the enclosure was built from the remnants of an old chicken coop. Remnants that weren't even scrubbed down before they were turned into an iguana enclosure. Oh, I forgot to mention the MOLD growing on the ig's snout.....Probably from the MOLD in the food dish... Guesses as to what I'm going to be doing for the next few days ????? Ahhhh....the beauty and glamour of ig rescue. Good thing none of us do this to get famous....LOL
