I agree w/ Amy and think lots of research is in order before breeding any animal for whatever reasons.
I understand about the surface temp being more than air temp...that's the reason I tried to explain what I was talking about when I said the temp should be 95-100...I was not refering to surface temps. Not sure what surface temps should be for an ig since all the research I've done never mentions it...only air temps. If your girl's air temps are at 98 then that's great! Sorry if you felt ridiculed but when looking for advice it's not as easy as just asking the question...there's so much involved when caring for an ig that lots of background info *must* be provided in order to comment. If you do decide to breed I hope all goes well. Good Luck!
: Im not joking. I am going to buy another iguana and raise it up and hope that it is male and possibly eventually breed them.. And like I said before the temp coming from about is about 98 the basking spot like I explained before is 110 the actual surface of the branch is 110 the air temp is much lower. Go outside put your hand on the ground and tell me if it is the same as the air temp...You will find out that it is alot hotter on flat ground even on an exposed tree limb! I am not trying to be rude. I just asked for some advice and it seemed as if they were just looking to ridicule the way I was rasing my pet. I am ok with this but to a point.. All I wanted was an answer.. nothing more! thanks!
