I think you should let them look at eachother in thier cages for about a week at least before letting them out together. Then be VERY cautious! You want to be able to seperate them if things turn ugly before anyone is injured!
As far as his toes. I am sure you have already planned a trip to the vet for him and this would be best to make sure that he has no infection in his toes. My Frodo was a rescue and 2 of his toes were so mangled and infected they had to be amputated and he had a round of antibiotics.
Frodo doesn't seem to notice he is missing a couple of digits, but it wouldn't hurt to wrap his branch with some hemp rope so that he can grip better with what he has!
