In Reply to: Growth rate! Please help! posted by Pete on July 10, 2001 at 16:45:10:

could maybe be that she was bored with the same old salad and that's *why* she's now interested in eating bugs? + if *that* is true, then maybe she's looking better cuz she's happier having something differrent to eat instead of the same ol' flavors ... ???? (just guessing here ...)

but please don't let her eat buggies! igs are not "built" to properly digest *any* kind of animal protein and their body not being able to process it can cause serious + major health problems (kidneys, liver, thyroid, etc ...) ...

there *are* plants that are high in protein as well ... just don't over-feed those vegies cuz excess plant protein can cause problems as well ~ just not as easily as animal protein does ...

as far as her size ... hmmmmmm ...
give more info like the others asked + maybe we can advise ... it could be that she's just destined to be on the smaller side, plus, females tend to be smaller than males ...

another thought ~ have you had a fecal done recently to have her checked for parasites??? that right there would make a HUGE difference in her growth rate ...

Bon. + iZ
