A $3 iguana is still a living being and with her purhcase, you are responsible for its care. It disturbs me that some people based the extent of care on the monetary value of an animal.
Vega$ was a $7 dollar iguana but I never had this nonchalant attitude about her. Whenever she needed her blood panels, her fecal tests, her exams and recently her spay, she got them. I purchased her, she became my responsiblity, so I provide the best care she can possibly get. An animal's value is not based on how much it costs monetarily, but on how much it touches your heart.
My girl isn't some animal that I ignore when I don't have time or not heed to her needs becuase I want to spend my money elsewhere. Vega$ and my bearded dragons are among my top priorities. If I wasn't prepared for the responsibility and dedication, I wouldn't have brought them into my life. There is no way *ever* that I would compromise their quality of life.
If your attitude about your iguanas are that they are "disposable pets" and you are not serious about their care, you should consider adopting them out to a person who's willing to dedicate the time and money to their care. I have seen and read about too many iguanas whose lives were cut short or lived torturous lives due to neglect, bad health, etc.
