No it doesn't sound right at all. If memory serves me correct the smallest reccomended enclosure for a desert iguana is a 100 gallon aquarium. A 10 gallon tank does not allow for a gradient of temperatures. Also, the substrate should be sand -think desert -there isn't gravel, it's sand you see most everywhere. I believe these iguanas are herbivorous, that they require UV light and grow between 12 and 18 inches long.
I also can't bring myself to believe that they only live for 2 years if being kept properly.
