I agree 100% with everything that Mr. D & iZ's mom said. I think it would be very unwise for your friend to get an iguana.
I also would like to mention that there is always an exception to the rule...Amanda is six. Benny is three and neither one have ever had a conflict. Amanda help with his skin peels, baths, and on occation make Benny's supper (Daddy has taught her well).
Benny generally returns the favour by giving Amanda lots and lots of tongue lashes.
James
Ps. Amanda is also an only child. I think this makes all the difference in the world. The fact that she wants to learn more about Benny everyday doesn't hurt either.
Good luck!
: totally agree with all Mr. D has said ...
: and i'd *underline* the part about not having TIME!!!
: an iguana is a HIGH-MAINTENCE animal ~ you cannot just slip it some food once in a while, clean it's enclosure once every couple weeks and call that good!!!!!
: an iguana MUST HAVE a SET daily schedule ~ it's needs come 1st, not the human's needs ~ and with yound children, that is just NOT gonna work at all ...
: i'm NOT saying that it CAN'T be done, but to get an ig at this point in her life is in my mind, totally irresponsible ~ towards her children as well as towards the animal ... it's not fair to any of them ...
: send her to the link below and READ what having an ig involves ...
: MK's Giant Green Iguana Care
: and tell her to get a nice goldfish instead ...
