I dunno, my igg Louie just climbed in and did her business immediately after I stuck a cat-litter pan about 1/4 full of water....I thought, "gee, I shouldn't have waited until she was three to potty-train her!" She always seemed to like going in the bathtub, or waiting until she was out of the cage to give it a whop on my bed, lol , but it just seems a large surface area of water attracts them to do it.
: How do you get your ig to eliminate in a pool of water? Mine has a pool w/ bubble maker in it and a water fall...he never uses either. He always goes on the floor of his cage and not always in the same spot. I've tried putting lots of fake leaves and vines around the pool so he'll feel secure and safe to use it and now I've got it out in the open incase he does't like the leaves and vines. Is he too young maybe (8 months)?? I would think by his age the instinct to want to use water would have kicked in...
