Iguana Fatness

I have a green ig, I'm not sure of the age but he is about a foot and a half long w/ his tail. I feed him bok choy daily and some fruit, with the occasional crickets. He is a voracious eater but his ribs still stick out, sometimes really bad. His growth was stunted when he was young by his previous owner, (general mistreatment.) He is active and alert, but is the scrawny appearance normal?
