Are you very serious about caring for this difficult pet?... (grows 6 feet and can live 29 years) Sometimes you may need stitches when they bite or claw you. They require a very large enclosure or an entire room. They need a stable home because they hate change. Iguanas require special UVB lighting and heat, a very nutritious vegetarian diet, and a real reptile lover as an owner. They are one of the most challenging reptiles to deal with.
If you are still interested, then I suggest you adopt one of the hundreds of iguanas that need homes. They come in all sizes, ages, and sexes and several people here rescue them-- good homes are always needed. Rescuers make sure they are in good health before adopting them out and many are tame already. IF you are very ambitious, you can look at adopting an aggressive male iguana or a special needs iguana...but that is up to you.
