I picked up the SPCA pet carrier iguana today. Unfortunately, he is living in a pet carrier. I have an outdoor cage, but our first tropical storm is dropping bucket fulls of rain.
I am told that he is 10 years. He is at least 8 and has had 2 owners and the mothers of both owners had to care for him.
He is about 2 feet long and weights about 2 pounds. When the roads water level goes down, I will check his weight.
The mother of the teen who had him says she called pet stores. A man told her he would put it down. He told her to put it in the freezer and he would just go to sleep. He said that was better than just breaking its neck. She said she was crying when she called the SPCA.
He will go to the Trianle Iguana Rescue in NC. Quito is as quiet and friendly as they come.
