We just went through this with our 4 yr old. It actually took her about 2 weeks to produce 25 eggs. Some "nudging" occured in the form of Oxytocin as well. Even now, we suspect that she hasn't laid all of them and will be bringing her in for an x-ray very soon. However, her appetite and personality have returned so while we are keeping a close eye on her with our vet, until we see any adverse signs, surgery won't be an option.
Keep an eye on appetite, appearance, and any evidence of straining. Hopefully, things will go quickly for you but don't be too surprised if it takes more than a few days.
