well, the fact that it's fairly predictable WHEN your ig has to go should help alot ... WHERE do you want him to go to the bathroom? decide that, and simply put him directly there everytime you let him out of his enclosure and tell him "go bathroom" ... he may not understand right away so be patient .... the fact that he doesn't poop in his house will help ... he's waiting to get out so he can poop and not mess up his home so you just need to teach him where the "bathroom place" is ... when he does happen to poop, tell him "good iggy, go bathroom" and praise him ... repeat "bathroom" (or whatever word you decide to use) so he can learn the word ...
i "accidently" trained iZ to go in the tub when he was about your ig's size .... right after he moved in with me, he got very constipated and bloated and i started soaking him in a shallow tub of warm water every night, first to relieve and then to prevent constipation ... after not too long, i'd simply put him in the tub (now with no water) as soon as he came out of his house and he learned to poop before he went to play (and EAT!) ... i've since learned the the tub is a very common ig-toilet ... NOT EVERYONE AGREES tho!!!! a litterbox lined with newspaper is just as good ...! (don't use kitty litter, pine shavings, etc... ig's 'taste' EVERYthing and it can lead to problems) if you use your tub, just make sure you rinse it well, and then disinfect it with a 1/10 bleach/water solution (spray, let sit wet at least 10 minutes, rinse well) ....
be patient and consistant .... igs like consistancy and once he figures it out, you shouldn't have a problem .... *grin*
hope this helps you!!!
happy herping!
