Vega$' first home was a 60 gallon tank. I mounted
a 36" Vitalite (later Reptisun 5.0) fixture inside the tank
however I encased the light/fixture with wire mesh. The
silly iglet figured out how to squeeze into the fixture!
Atop the tank middle top (wire mesh, I rested a
150W Ceramic Heat Emitter (in a fixture with a porcelain
socket- this is important as the heat emitted by the lamp
is very HIGH!) attached to a dimmer switch; this was useful
for adjusting for seasonal conditions as well as
dropping nitetime temps a bit.

As igs are diurnal creatures, I tried to adjust her lighting
to the seasons by using a timer. Around just after the
sun rises, her light would switch on; around dusk, the light
would switch off. Her CHE was on 24/7; however, I manually
adjusted for the nitetime temps. I also used a
supplemental undertank heater to help along with maintaining
the appropriate temperature gradient.

I'm all for providing direct sunlight!! Fortunate for Vega$,
we live in Southern California and she was able to get sun daily,
varying from 15 mins a day to a full afternoon on the
weekends.

Feel free to email if you need help with setup or diet
or anything of the like :) I hope to get Vega$' pages
expanded over the Xmas holidays!

Dewlap rubs to the lil iglet :)
