I have been raising a young (< 1 year) iguana for about 6 months now. I have been using astroturf as the substrate in his terrarium. I was thinking of making his home a little more like his natural environment to make him happier and a little more comfortable and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the substrate. Would a live plant setup be bad if I used something to separate him from the actual soil. I don't mind if he eats the plants, unless that is not recommended. Any ideas would be welcome.
