well, i'll see what i can do ... (and try not to ramble tooooo much ... LOL)
poop seems like an odd thing to discuss, but it IS very important to an igs health! there is no set "right" answer to "how often?" ... when iZ 1st came to live with me, he was small + scrawny and ate constantly and so of course pooped ALOT .... once or twice a day isn't uncommon for a young ig .... iZ will usually go every other day now that he is a whopping 3 years old ... but lately, he's going everyday again .... i guess the point to this NON-answer is that it varies alot freom ig to ig and even with one ig! after a while, you will get to know what is "regular" for your ig ... four days is getting to be a bit long tho ... that's the point where I start to be concerned (I am a VERY good worrier! *grin*) 99% of the time, a warm soak in the tub will help iZ when he's "stuck" ... (start with very shallow water! iZ used to be terrified of the tub and would only stay in if i held his hand the entire time!)
igs can get stressed out pretty easily and it'll prob'ly take a couple weeks for your new iggy to settle in and develope a routine .... try to do the same things at the same time of day and she will learn what to expect and when ... it wouldn't hurt to put her in the tub every night and try "toilet-training" her ... (some will strongly disagree with letting an ig poop in your tub .... (i discovered by accident that it makes an excellent ig-toilet! i just make sure to rinse the tub VERY well and spray it with a 1:10 bleach:water solution and let that set 10 minutes)
both diets you mentioned are widely used and so it sounds like you've got a good handle on that! adjusting to a new diet will also take a bit of getting used to (even tho it's now a very healthy diet! ... it's still a new thing)
oh! make sure cleo's room is warm enough! that is VERY important to digestion (and pooping!)
um.... i generally feed iZ RAW vegies .... but that's just me .... i don't think cooked are necessarily bad .... try to buy ones that don't add any salt, sugar etc. tho .
whew ... i think i rambled ANYway ..... hope some of it helps ...*grins*
best of luck to you + cleo!
:P + :)
