I think it has alot to do with country of origin with enviroment (duplicating microclimates) coming in second as why some iguanas stay green when they mature. Majority of GGI imports are from Central America /Tropic of Cancer area and seem to have the grays,browns,orange hues most seen ...or like my two mutts! They're the common 'calico' colors ;-)....makes not a difference to me...I do think the ALL green mature ones are purdier ;-) Here's a link to some pics of GGIs in the wild...
