i thought *i* hated change til i had a pet bunny ~ you couldn't rearrange the pillows on the sofa without upseting him for days!
then i met *iZ* ... OMG ~ he makes me + Bunster look totally sane + rational ... talk about hating change!! igs have to be the WORST when it comes to dealing with ANYthing new!
they *will* adjust, it just takes time is all ... they really can't understand *WHY* change happens and they don't really comprehend that it's a *good* change ~ they just know it's different + different is yechy!
iZ pouted for a month when we moved from an apt to a house, even tho his enclosure was exactly the same as it had been and it was a quieter place to be ~ he just needed time to adjust ...
6 months later, he decided he absolutely *hated* his enclosure ~ which was OK cuz we'd moved to this house so iZ could have his own room + i was almost done fixing it ... have i mentioned that i spoil him rotten??? ... even tho he had begun to refuse to go into his enclosure + would throw *MAJOR* temper tantrums when i put him in there at nite, he *still* stressed out when he moved to his very own room ... *shaking head*
keep things as much the same as possible ~ if the ig has a favorite basking shelf, blankie, whatever, try to keep that the same as before ... keep the same schedule as you had before ... tempt 'em with their most favorite foods, maybe tuck 'em in bed a bit earlier than usual cuz the stress is wearing them out (as well as you!) ... hang in there and he'll come around, calm down soon enough ... hey ~ if *iZ* did, i have faith your's will!
