Clarification of what I'm after

I should say that I know that you can type in a word and find any and all relating posts to that word, but since I have no idea what that message (the one with Gus's picture in it) is called, I can't find it.

I guess what I'm asking is this: Is there a way I can look at old posts as they appear in order? Or, is there a way to scroll through last months messages in order and see them as they appeared in context? (by date)
I'm just wondering how to find some old conversations and pictures without having to know what the exact title of the post was called.
Anyone know how?
