the show at Mill Mountain Zoo turn out great. The typical sayings we heard were: 1) WOW, I've never seen one that big! (Kermit is only 6 years old, 8lbs and around 4 1/2 feet!) 2. I use to have one......but it died! 3. Don't they have long tongues and eat insects??
All in all, we'd had to say it was a great turn out. I know there was a some parents that will make sure they're children will not have an iguana as a pet now.
I have a few photos I will load up today and post for everyone to see. Kermit was just great!! Extremely mellow until close to the end of the day...and I wouldn't even blame him for being tired of it all, after being touched and poked all day long! By the end of the day, he just wanted peace and quiet!
Now the trip up to the zoo was not pleasant at all, seeings how Kermit decided to poop twice (while free roaming in the truck cab).....poop just grosses me completely out.....and being locked in a small Nissan cab with Kermit poopin', was just not what I'd call fun at all!!! YUCK!!
The staff at the zoo were just great!!! Very helpful and just overall wonderful to work with. I hope they will invite us back again next year.
Oh a side note, I have been invited to go timber rattler hunting next weekend....I can't wait!!! If all goes well and we find them coming out of their wintering spots, I'll have photos on the Richmond Herp website, if anyone is interested in seeing them.
Next Iguana show is North Carolina, where we will be helping with a booth for the Triangle Iguana Rescue group down there.
How was everyones.....Earth day?? Hope ya'll are having a great weekend.
Sincerely,
HD
