In Reply to: Iguana Substrate.. Pine bark? cypress mulch? I echo Kim: Neither! posted by Diana on April 20, 2001 at 09:28:22:
Is there any form of substrate i can use other than flat materials like carpet and or paper? i by no means would ever want to risk any form of health problems to my recently rescued freind but the cage design is leaving me with bad thoughts about using paper or carpet......... The cage is 9' long x4' wide x6'Tall and its floor is a concrete platform, the cage was formely used to house juvenile reticulated pythons and i used about 1 1/2- 2 feet of cypress mulch to insulate the floor, by using paper or carpet im afraid the concrete will be a bit chilly even though the cage is well heated. any ideas? By the way my name is Bill and this is my second iguana (had my first about 10 years ago when i was 12) i never thought id own one again but i have a very soft heart and couldnt stand to see her being abused anymore.
