on your evaluation of the uvb tube's intensity. In order for an ig to benefit, they must bask for extended periods at about 12 to 18" from the tube. This is the reason for my statement about natural sunlight being vital. The tubes are a stopgap measure, and should be used to provide uvb when sunlight is impossible, such as it is for those of us who keep igs in the colder regions. Come Spring, they should all be outdoors whenever possible. As a matter of fact, I'm working on this year's version of Bug's suncage now...
