Breeding your ig: well that's a personal decision. You are well aware of green iguana situation here in the US. It would be easy to find buyers of your hatchlings at a couple of bucks a pop thru pet stores (they REALLY would like captive bred vs. imports) but my conscience would haunt me knowing that these iglets would wind up dead or dumped onto someone else in later life. I don't know if you have 40-60 friends who would want an ig. MKs website has articles on incubating eggs to get you thru. Iguanas do NOT need to breed to be 'happy'. A stuffed animal;love toy or rolled up warm towel is a good surrogate for hormonal angst.
Mirrors are fine to use as long as you are there to supervise him. May need to remove it if your ig begins displaying aggression towards the 'other ig'in the mirror because he may injure himself; break glass, bash nose...etc.
