Reptiles in general (there are a few exceptions like Solomon's Skinks) are solitary animals. That is, they won't give a rat's @$$ if they get to mate or not with another, or if one of them dies in fron of it. Actually, they may take the opportunity to devour it!
To understand this, u have to think like a reptile, or in this case, like an iguana:
>u are a cold-blooded animal, that seeks out basking spots on the best branches and rocks to stay warm, digest, and synthesize Vitamin D3. So green iguanas do not really need a mate, since they resolve they hormonal problems by uh....hmmmm.... "self-pleasure" and ejaculation. Actually, it is recommended by many herpers to keep ONE IGUANA PER HOUSEHOLD! #2) The iguana bobbing at the mirror thing has been a favorite for ages...but, you are making your iguana "ticked off" since they do not reco themselves in the mirror. They feel threatened, invaded, and territorial, i.e.: stressed! So avoid doing it again, because it is not natural, it is artificially enforced territorial behavior. Hope this helps, feel free to ask more! Unless u are intersted in breeding igs (may God help you), leave the animal's sex-life alone! LOL!

You compete for the freshest greens around, and have your own terrutory to defend from EVERYBODY.
When you were born, your mother wasn't there for you, and the only organisms to attend your funeral are scavengers or your predators (or a 9 year old kid who has no clue how to keep iguanas).
You go on in life by basking, eating, and mating
Take out the mating part, and you still have a pretty good life (after all, you only mate once a year!).

: I have been asking my self the last few weeks if it is my moral duty to my iguana to arrange a breeding session with another iguana. Do any of you think that it is important for an iguana's happiness and well being to breed. Also, I have recently found it quite enjoyable to sit my iguana in front of a mirror to watch the head bobbing and other funny things he does. Do you think this is unheathly for my Iguana? Any suggestions and comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
