I started getting all sentimental and weepy when I wrote the message down further. I am over his death now and try to only think of happy times. And as the years go by, I find much pleasure in Flapjack and Sleestack-- they are very different, but characters all the same. I love them, but I feel as though I've held myself back from the same emotions. Perhaps you don't know how strongly you feel until one is hurt or sick OR maybe it takes many years to bond to that degree. I have had some amazing pets I have lost in the past, but I knew they were old and I was prepared. I was just not ready for Salvador to go, but I don't know if I ever would have been.
While I'm on these weepy topics, have you ever heard of a book written by a guy that could not get over the loss of his pets? It sounds like a major tear jerker-- I was looking at the webpage a couple months back. He had the terrible misfortune of having his house burn down with all his pets inside-- and he was VERY close to them (dogs and cats mostly). People treated him like a freak because no one could understand why he couldn't get over it-- anyway, just reading the writeup on this book made me believe I couldn't handle reading that book! He decided to write the book because he wanted to help others who felt the same I guess. If I come across it again, I'll let you guys know.
Anyway, thanks for your sentiment.... and i enjoyed reading everyone's comments on the string.
