John,
I can fully understand your fears and wanting to have an iggy that is use to you. I do have to say that when I first decided to get our iggy that I felt I was NOT ready or prepaired to take in a "rescue" iggy, didnt feel I could handle the problems, possible medical and attitude. Well I have to say that after some more research and deciding an iggy was defintly what we wanted then I started calling pet stores to get prices, well I heard the story of a 2 to 3 yr old iggy who was on deaths door before the pet store took him in, he was taken care of there for a year and medically treated, wasnt handled or given much attention, I was scared I couldnt handle it, well a week after I heard her story I went to check on her, she came home that day, I have only been bitten once that was MY FAULT I scared her, after two days I was able to touch her without her stiffening up, now two months later she rides around on my head, will run up to my lap and set in it if im on the floor, I can touch any part of her body INCLUDING her mouth without any signs of agression. She took to me within two days, and fully trusted me after a week, good luck with what every you decide but wanted to let you know you can get an older iggy and they trust you as much as having one since a baby.
: I WAS WONDERING WHAT A GOOD SIZE IGUANA IS TO START OUT WITH, ALSO HOW BIG OF AN ENCLOSURE.... THANK YOU
