Yes, perhaps your iguana has parasites or is ill in some other way. I reccommend a vet visit, taking a fresh stool sample along to test. Blood work would be a good idea too, if you haven't done this in more than a year.
Perhaps his lighting/diet/calcium/temps need some work. Sometimes igs behave this way when they are not feeling well. And they get sick many times from improper diet, heat, light etc.
Once you rule out all of these factors, then you move toward the belligerant personality typed iguana (however, if tame this usually doesn't happen until they are older).
Anyway, let us know how the blood and fecal check out, and we can make some suggestions after that. Also, you may want to post more info on your set up and diet-- to get a head start on any improvements that could be made there.
