located in Santa Barbara, California. Philips does make mercury arc vapor type compact flourescent tho (don't know the specs, or prices). I think Rainbow Rock is just a distributor/middleman of Active UVHeat. I would email the Active UVHeat Bosse and see if they will ship direct to you. They just might ;-)Agreed there is a HUGE market for them in Europe...Ive participated in many UK reptile boards and amazed at how herping has become so popular abroad. I paid $42 (US) each for my lamps @ 2 years ago. Ive noticed since tho that the price has gone up to $45-$49 (US) each but can get them like I posted $10 less from reptile shows (here anyway). The dome hood and porcelin fixture is about $10, and the extender was $3. Take a look at the graphs done on lamp output and age done thru independant analysis (link below) at 2 years 3 months 18 " distance ran 11 hours a day the 160 Flood emitted 16 microwatts of uvb compared to Zoo-Med's Reptisun/Iguana Light flourescent recommended within 12 inches (optimal is 9.5 inches) at 4 months usage emitted 5 microwatts of uvb, (Brand new Zoo-Med emits 10 microwatts of uvb) Active UV heat is cost effective over the long haul especially for herps not exposed to natural unfiltered sunlight on a regular basis. Am I starting to sound like a commercial? lolol...I would recommend tooling around the Active UVHeat website and any questions you have about them, shipping etc. e-mail Joe directly with any ?s you have. Much luck and keep us updated ok! I know a few ig people in Scandanavia I'd like to let them know if they can order direct.
