Aside from my suggestion below (adding a white OVERHEAD spotlight) I also suggest you only use the heating pad for EXTRA warmth, not a main heat source as that would not be healthy for the iguana. Also Tony maybe you should keep it on low, it might not feel that warm but your iguana will sit on that for hours at a time, unlike your hand being there for 5 seconds. Also I'd think about turning it off and not leaving it on all day.
An iguana really needs no underbelly heat, but an iguana DOES need overhead light to bask in.
