sometimes spikes have a hard time shedding completely ... sometimes the shed gets too tight on the spike and cuts off it's blood flow + then the tip starts to dry out + die ...

what's helped with iZ is putting a warm wet washcloth over his back when he's soaking in the tub (he likes it + pretends it's his super-ig cape!)... that way, you're letting the spikes themselves soak + hopefully loosen/shed more easily ... a bath every day will help too, even if it's just 5-10 minutes, it'll help soften + loosen any areas that are shedding ...

make sure your ig is getting plenty of moisture by mouth as well ... spray all salads with water right before serving them, etc ... that helps tremendously with shedding!

i use aloe vera on iZ's 'itchy spots' when he's shedding, especially his spikes cuz they tend to 'get stuck' ... use pure 100% aloe with nooooo additives in it and it's safe ...

good luck!
Bon.
