Hi my name is Travis I run a small iguana rescue in Maine . I have taken in MANY iguanas burned by heat rocks DON'T use them .That being said lets address your other problem . Your daytime heat should come from overhead WHITE light ( spot light type ) . You should also have a UVB/UVA light . Night heat should come from a CHE ( Ceramic heating element ) these can be bought from almost any pet store any a few thousand places online DO NOT use colored light for night heat . You should only use a " human " heating pad as a last resort and only for a few hours .
You can see a CHE here http://www.bigappleherp.com/bigappleherp.filereader?3acfd6610f02cfc0271ed143c8c606e5+EN/products/107100
You can see the type of bulb you need here http://www.bigappleherp.com/bigappleherp.filereader?3acfd6610f02cfc0271ed143c8c606e5+EN/products/267400#descriptionLink
Hope this helps
Travis
