#1 your pool has chlorine in it while it is not known to harm iguanas it is better to err on the safe side . Buy a kiddie pool and let him swim in that . As for staying under water yes they can stay under for quite some time although the longest I have seen is a little over twenty minutes ( I was getting worried and pulled him out ) .
