Since Mel's enclosure STILL (yes, still) doesn't have any doors (thanks to tenants and 5k worth of repair work) we run her panel and temp controller anyway. There have been nights that we had to turn the heat off because it was too warm because of that panel....LOL... We got the largest one that HerpSupplies sells (18x24?) and could probably have gone with a smaller one. There are probably much better ways to heat a room instead of eating electricity up by running one but they DO exist in larger sizes specifically for human use. You'd have to do a bit of digging - or ask John at HerpSupplies if he can come up with larger ones.
Another option would be to run an Active bulb in the room during the dayand a panel at night... Pricey yes, but if it's just for one ig then take into consideration the projected longevity and warranties of both products and one or both may be viable options......
