Building cage

I am planning on building a cage for my new iguana sometime soon. The cage will be made out of wood mainly not sure what types yet. What I need to know is if there is anything I should avoid using. I plan to stain the wood so it will look nicer and use some type of sealant. Anything I should or should not use???
