You can use dirt if you want to BUT make sure you use STERIAL anything else can have mites and god knows whet alse in it . I would say that Plain paper ( unprinted newspaper ) works great . I do NOT use any bedding at all . All my cages have vinyl floors as you have all these iguanas you chold know they dont like to sit on the floor ..
