In Reply to: Hey Mark, best of luck with the Burm... posted by jif on March 29, 2001 at 10:20:33:
I have zero tolerance for people who mistreat/underfeed/abuse their animals. I find it one of the most frustrating things imaginable in my life at this moment.
My concern for the Burm I recieved yesterday was so great, I could not help but attempt to feed it immediately. Luckily he took a few rats, and seems to be alert/curious to his surroundings.
With Chuck, he gets the utmost of care, even though I know a free-roaming iguana is not the most ideal situation. I have increased my efforts as much as possible to make his life comfortable and pleasing in my home. Heck, he eats better than I do!!
Thanks for the kind words, and good luck with your rescues.
Mark
: I know how frustrating that can be. In the last couple of weeks we've taken in a couple snake rescues. The first is a beautiful Royal Python with severe head burns from exposure to a bare light bulb. He's doing very well, back on feed and healing. The second is a gorgeous 5 foot Burm that has a resp. infection. These peeps couldn't afford their heating bills and this poor snake was in an unheated home in Michigan for 2 weeks! Antibiotic injections every 3 days for 3 weeks are in store for this guy. What goes through peoples' minds?
: I'm gonna reserve my opinion on Chuck's gender til I see the pics. Regardless of sex, he's a handsome lizard and so spoiled!! Nice going!
