Keep an eye on it and see what happens...keep it clean , apply neosporin to the scab to prevent infection...if tail atrophies (die scales collapse into itself, shrivel up,looking like a dried up black/dark brown hard twig) a vet visit may be in order to amputate just above the point of trauma so he can begin to regenerate healthy tail again.
