The most desperate I have gotten is putting the baby in a pet carrier with a hot water bottle and a heat pouch thingy (you break them in half and they get warm) and set the carrier near a woodstove! Our power outages are short TG.

But didn't I read a story here a year or two ago about someone carting all their babies to a motel miles away during an extended power outage...and sneak 20 - 40 herps in the room?? Could it have been Harry's Dad?
