What your iguana is being subject to would be roughly comparible to us putting you in a coat closet, only with a lower ceiling. Not too comfy.

In fact Stevie, you can adapt a closet to use as a cage. You remove the solid door and replace it with a screen door (for ventilation). Hang some UVB bulbs (at least a couple) and a heat source (we only use ceramic heat emitters with our iguanas) and whala! An adequate cage!
