: Well, it's been a grand total of 4 days since Jimmi, our one-eyed rescue, arrived. It is absolutely amazing the progress that has been made so far. Neither the Mrs. nor myself can believe that things are progressing as well as they are. Jimmi is already adjusted to our daily bath schedule, is pretty much pooping daily, although not always in the tub. Her appetite seems to have kicked in as she's clearing plates of food now and is pooping twice per day. We didn't really know her limits until we came down from rehabbing the apartment from the last tenants and didn't find her in her enclosure. She had actually pushed through the door and was clear across the kitchen sitting in a window. Naturally, a few adjustments to the cage were in order. As soon as we have time we'll be building a new one for her but for now she's in the 3x4x2 that she came with. Even as I write this she's sitting on my shoulder dsaf4w4877fsdfkjkl - ok she WAS sitting on my shouder. She's off exploring across the desk now. In any event, we are actually about a month ahead of where we thought we'd be with her.
: Everything seems to be going incredibly well and with any luck at all, we'll be able to get her in for her 1st vet check in a week or so. There's still the issue of what to do with the unsutured eye lid and socket and we're not sure just how much of a risk of infection it is. There may also be something that can be done to assist her in opening her mouth a bit more. She seems to have difficulty opening it due to the way it healed after the cat attack. Anyone know of any good herpetological plastic surgeons ??...;)
