WEll SOMEDAYS double D loves to be rubbed down in the tub, others its keep your hands off me im SWIMMING and your in MY WAY LOL. Ill try the ideas you gave, Im not very patient and I KNOW shes made such GREAT progress in almost 2 months. I just feel so bad knowing that she hasnt had the care she deserved and that shes got the layers built up. I just want to make her all better and healthy NOW (Did I mention im not PATIENT LOL). No I NEVER force it, I just gently rub if it comes off it does if it dosent I leave it for another day. We do at least one bath a day, she gets spritzed daily or more, has a water bowl and I wash all her greens and leave a bit of water on them when putting them in her bowl.
: that's kewl that she's enjoying the massages! excellent bonding time! does she like to be rubbed while she's in the tub soaking???? iZ has a certain *shudder bob* to tell me to rub his back when he's bathing ... (tell me i'm not well trained!)
: tummies and bottoms of tails just don't shed as often as other parts ... and the bottom of the tail is always gonna be surprisingly *thick* ... but that makes sense cuz it gets dragged around alot right?! *grin*
: try some 100% aloe vera (no added scent!) on itchy shedding spots ~ i use that alot with iZ ... and it's much less *messy*!!! daily warm soaks are the best ... also if you can get some extra moisture *in* her that helps alot with shedding too! drinks from an oral syringe and/or sprinkling water on her salads ...
: Disclaimer!!!
: for igs with SERIOUSLY PROBLEMATIC SHEDS due to OTHER medical issues ~ renal probs (like iZ) or like DD, lack of adequate care until recently ...
: but *IF* the shed still really *is* stuck, try some plain old vaseline ~ a *light* coat on problem areas *only* ... iZ tends to have problems shedding as a weird symptom of his probs and i've been using A + D ointment which is mostly vaseline (+ it's what i happened to have on hand thanx to the g-daughters ...) ... it's helped tremendously!!!
: you don't want to use anything "scented" like baby oil ... plain old Mineral Oil is ok to use on problem areas ... it's baby oil without the perfume ... it's ALOT messier than vaseline/ A + D tho ...
: don't rush the process!!! if the shed is removed before it is really ready to come off, it *hurts*!!!!
: best wishes + headbobobobs
: Bon. + iZ (who wants a backrub now!)
